AP Language and Composition
Today's time was spent going over specific strategies for improving students' scores on the multiple choice section of the exam.

Homework:  Students should complete the second practice multiple choice exam that is found in their "Multiple Choice Packet"

Pre-AP English 9
In today's class, we began reading James Hurst's short story "The Scarlet Ibis."  We read the first two paragraphs and annotated them for words with negative connotations and allusions to death.  Students then began to search for specific images within the passage.

Homework:  Students need to finish filling out their imagery chart.  They also need to obtain their copies of the next two class novels we will be studying.  Finally, the ninth grade extra-credit movie will be shown starting tomorrow.  Students should plan accordingly.

Advanced English 9
We continued analyzing James Hurst's "The Scarlet Ibis" in today's class.  We annotated for examples of figurative language and symbolic meaning.

Homework:  Students need to obtain their copies of the next two class novels we will be studying.  Also, the ninth grade extra-credit movie will be shown starting tomorrow.  Students should plan accordingly.
