In today's class, we discussed new literary analysis terms including alliteration, paradox, allusion, idiom, simile, metaphor, personification, and anthropomorphism. We then annotated the first two paragraphs of "The Scarlet Ibis" for examples of figurative language.
Homework: Students need to study their words of the day in preparation for the quiz tomorrow. They also need to obtain their copies of the two class novels we will be studying next by Monday, September 30.
Advanced English 9
