We continued to discuss propaganda  in today's class before reading through part of A Separate Peace.

We finished up Julius Caesar in class today and reviewed for tomorrow's test.

Happy sixth birthday to my daughter!!

In today's class, we focused on the individualization of much post-modern literature by studying through a social psychology experiment conducted by Stanley Milgram.  In the experiment, Milgram tried to answer the question of internal motivation and what causes people to make the choices that they make. This plays perfectly into A Separate Peace, which also attempts to answer the questions, "What is evil, and where does it originate?"

Homework:  Students need to read through chapter 8 in A Separate Peace by Monday, April 29th.

In today's class, we continued discussing the life of Shakespeare and what England was like in Shakespeare's day.

We watched a biography of Edgar Allen Poe in today's class and read through "The Raven."

In today's class, we reviewed all of the trouble words that we discussed in class yesterday.  If your student is still having trouble with any of the words, a simple google search should bring up practice exercises for him/her to do.  (Ex.  If he/she is having trouble with the difference between using "good" or "well," simply type "good vs. well quiz" into a search engine such as google, and click on the appropriate search result.).

Homework:  Students need to read through chapter 21 in To Kill a Mockingbird by Tuesday, April 16th.
