Friday, May 8

AP Language and Composition
We spent out class time today reviewing all of our recent essays and reviewing all of the material for the AP Exam, WHICH IS WEDNESDAY, MAY 13 at 8:00 AM at SHELTON!!!

Pre-AP English 9
We began talking about post-modernism and the life of William Golding in class today.

Homework:  Students need to read chapters 1-6 in Lord of the Flies by Tuesday, May 12 and study over the grammatical concepts we've covered in class lately (verbals, sentence objects, and sentence complements).

Reading the Bible as Literature
We finished our Survey of the New Testament in class today and began studying the book of Revelation.

Wednesday, May 6

AP Language and Composition
Students wrote their final essay in class today!!

Pre-AP English 9
We reviewed sentence objects and complements in class today before beginning to discuss Lord of the Flies.

Homework:  Students need to finish reading chapters 1-6 in Lord of the Flies and look back over their grammar notes for a test that will be given on Friday, May 8.

Reading the Bible as Literature
We began studying Acts and the epistles in class today.

Tuesday, May 5

AP Language and Composition
Students took their final multiple-choice practice in class today.

Pre-AP English 9
In today's class, students reviewed and practiced with verbals.  They also began learning about sentence objects and complements.

Homework:  Students need to read chapters 1-6 in Lord of the Flies by Friday, May 8.

Reading the Bible as Literature
Students finished studying Christ's Passion and resurrection in class today.

Monday, May 4

AP Language and Composition
Students wrote an argumentative essay in class today.

We reviewed verbals in class today.

Students continued studying the Passion and resurrection of Christ in class today.

Friday, May 1

AP Language and Composition
Students took their first Columbine reading test today.

Pre-AP English 9
We finished The Glass Menagerie in class today.

Homework:  Students need to FINISH The Glass Menagerie this weekend!  Students also need to obtain their copy of Lord of the Flies.  We will begin our discussion of it early next week.
