In an effort to explain disillusionment and post-modernism more accurately, we started out today's class by listening to two well-known songs, "Brown-eyed Girl" and "In the Air Tonight."  After asking how many students knew these songs, we discussed the rumored "true meanings" behind the lyrics.  This was to show that when you get knowledge that changes your long-held view of something, you become disillusioned with that "something."  After this demonstration, we started our notes on post-modernism and William Golding.
