AP Language and Composition
Mrs. Jemison, the junior counselor, came to speak to all of the AP classes today about decisions that they will need to make in the near future concerning colleges, scholarships, etc.  Mrs. Jemison is a fantastic resource for those students who would like to go ahead and start their college application process (which I would suggest all of my students begin to do).

Homework: Students need to obtain their copy of Unbroken.  We will begin reading it on September 2.

Pre-AP English 9
Students began presenting their research projects in class today.

Homework:  Students need to finish reading chapters 1-10 of To Kill a Mockingbird by Friday, August 29.

Bible as Literature
We studied through Genesis 6 and the story of Noah today.  We also began discussing the Epic of Gilgamesh as a segue into the motif of the deluge found throughout several different ancient societies.
