On April 14th, over 200 women were kidnapped by al Qaeda affiliates. Recently, a video was released with the alleged leader of the Islamist militant group that is telling people he is going to sell the women, and that Allah told him too. Nigeria's finance minister told the public that they were trying their best to find the women. But, he wasn't exactly clear and on Sunday people gathered in protest that the women need to be found and not to have been sold. The United States is teaming up with Nigeria to help find the women as soon as possible.

In Nigeria, extremists have kidnapped over 200 girls, with no specific age limit. The Obama Administration has offered help in aiding to find the girls. Many female and male protesters have marched and done other acts to try and get the girls brought back. This act has been going on for a while now, but the 200 girls were kidnapped in only a few weeks.

Iran threatened that if a war were to ever break out between them and the United States. Their country as been building a replica of the USS Nimitz to use for military exercises.
Ali Fadavi, who leads Iran Guard's naval forces, says the U.S. carriers large size makes them "easy targets".
He also said that America's aircraft carriers are our "symbol of America's military might" and so they plan on sinking them.
The spokesman for the Pentagon says they are unconcerned with this recent finding.

Ahmad Jarba, the head of the Syrian opposition, said that he would ask the Obama administration to give them anti-aircraft missiles. He would also try to convince American officials that the weapons "would not fall into the wrong hands." Mr. Jarba and the head of the military of this opposition plans to meet with senior Pentagon officials, Secretary of State John Kerry, White House officials, members of Congress. They have tried to get these weapons before, but, the American officials have been worried and have not provided them. Mr. Jarba argued that he had done what he was supposed to by participating in the recent peace talks in Geneva, but that these have been aggravated by the Assad government. He has maintained that strengthening the opposition would raise the rebels’ leverage if another round of these talks were held. Finally, the State Department made up their mind and said that it was upgrading the opposition's diplomatic status and also promised an additional $27 million in nonlethal assistance.

China is unhappy that the U.S. is teaming up with Japan. For a while now, there has been a dispute over the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands and whom they belong to. China feels as if the U.S. has made them an enemy by siding with Japan. The Chinese state that the U.S along with the allied nations have “shown their true colors”. The Chinese are also saying that the U.S. is trying to decline their country. Tensions are going to be high for a while so all we can do is wait.

Obama states that he will not wait for mass graves to take action in the war, he does not believe that as a nation we should wait for it. We steeped in to the Liyban war to show that he wishes the future as a whole world shall be brighter rather than just the countries.

Obama's opponents don't agree with Obama's inauguration address. They say it was too much of what he wants to do over his next 4 years in office. They continue to say that even though Obama announces that he is going to do something, he fails to follow through. Obama's opponents don't agree with his decisions, period.

According to a recent survey, a good portion of Americans do not think the US is responsible in any way for a possible invasion of the Ukraine by Russia. Russia recently moved more troops into Crimea, causing more trouble. Many people are not sure about who and when anybody should get involved with this ordeal.

The U.S will not have any troops stationed in Iraq in 2014. For Iraq this means that they may soon be on the brink of a civil war, without the U.S influence in gov. regulations, things in Iraq may soon be in turmoil. Al Qaeda may be to blame if there is a civil war, as they have growing presence in Iraq. Al Qaeda will spark the anchient rivalry between the Sunnis and the Shiites, who are both followers of the Muzlim faith that have different beliefs. -Brandon Appling

  12. The U.S is sending hostage negotiators and military power to Nigeria to help rescue the 250 girls that were kidnapped. The Obama administration is sending the reinforcement because Boko Haram, the group leader that took the girls, said that he was going to sell them. The Secretary of State was talking with the Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathon about sending a "coordination cell" to the Nigerian capital to also help locate the missing girl.

    http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/american-involvement-in-world-war-i.html
In 1912 Woodrow Wilson was elected President of the United States. Wilson successfully kept Americans troops out of World War I during his first term. American involvement became inevitable later on in World War I. As the European powers squared off in 1914 in what was to be four years of horrific war, America managed to mind its own business. Wilson won reelection in 1916 using the phrase “he kept us out of war.” As time passed, the country began to side more often with Britain, France, and other countries that were fighting Germany. The sinking of the British passenger ship, Lusitania, by a German submarine in 1915, which resulted in the deaths of 128 Americans, inflamed U.S. passions against “the Huns.” The U.S. military was ill-prepared for war on a massive scale. Only about 370,000 men were in the Army and National Guard combined. Through a draft and enlistments, however, that number swelled to 4.8 million in all the military branches by the end of World War I.

Vladimir Putin will meet with European leaders and President Obama in France for a ceremony marking the D-Day invasion at the end of World War 2. This will be the first time Putin and the other leaders have been face-to-face since the Ukraine crisis began. France is openly welcoming Putin to the ceremony, because millions of Russians lives were lost during the war. The United States and Europe agreed about Putin's attendance, because they felt it was important to separate the war ceremonies from current conflicts among countries.

About three weeks ago, over 300 Nigerian school girls were kidnapped by a group of Islamic extremest, the Boko Haram. Nobody knows for sure why this group has abducted all these innocent girls, but they have offered $300,000 to anyone who can give true information about the abduction. At first, Nigeria did not want the United States help for the investigation, but finally accepted the help and U.S officials arrived today to help investigate, but it may be too late to help. Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram has said in a video that he was the leader and the one responsible for abducting the girls, and has threatened to use the girls as sex slaves. The U.S will continue to investigate and help figure out how to get the rest of the alive girls back to their families, safely.

Russia has skepticism with the ICC, but they are wiling to give it a try anyway. The US and European and Arab partners are discussing a second draft resolution. In 1991, a civil war broke out in Somalia between President Ali Mahdi Mohamed and General Mohamed Farah Aidid. The United Nations, and other organizations, sought to resolve the conflict. The Secretary-General quickly sent a messenger to all of the leaders that expressed the support for a United Nations peace role. The United Nations also provided humanitarian aid, in combination with relief organizations. The war had resulted in nearly 1million refugees and almost 5 million people were threatened by hunger and disease.

The u.s ambassador geoffrey pyatt has told us that there is no evidence that links Ukraine to current violence over the border of Ukraine. dozens were killed in ukraine the past weekend, but Russia is not directly linked to theses actions. Pro-russians were trapped inside a burning building in Odessa, and Russia is curious of the true details of the situation.

In 2003, President Bush announced a military campaign against Iraq. Over 40 satellite-guided Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired from U.S. grounds towards Saddam. The decision to strike came after a nearly four-hour meeting in the Oval Office with Bush and CIA director. In New York, Iraq Ambassador to the UN, Mohammed Aldouri, said, "It seems that the war of aggression against my country has started." This was the start of a war between Iraq and the United States that has never came to an end.

Obama's recent travels through Asia trying to gain allies has angered.China believes the U.S. is trying to constrict the growth of China and plot against them. China has said that they own the rest of Asia and the U.S. has no right using them as allies. Also, they say the U.S. is trying to constrict their growth and influencing them to take the path that the Americans took. They also said that the U.S. is not a in stable economy right now, so they shouldn't try to influence a bigger, faster growing nation.

Travel (when you need health care outside the U.S.)
when you are traveling outside the U.S, rarely will medicare(hospital insurance) pay for something unless you are in a medical emergency and a foreign hospital is closer than the U.S, you are traveling through Canada and a Canadian Hospital is closer than the U.S, you live in the U.S and a foreign hospital is closer than the U.S., but .Medicare wont pay if you board a ship and you are within 6 hours of the U.S. Medicare drug plans don't cover prescription drugs you buy outside the U.S.

Twenty-four days ago, 300 girls in Nigeria were kidnapped. Many schools ended up closing because they were afraid that many other girls were going to be kidnapped by the extremists called Boko Haram. The girls who went to school knew it'd be treacherous to go, but they really wanted to take their physics exam. Twenty-five percent of these girls were planning on being doctors or teachers. The girls' parents are really nervous and scared that they might find out that their daughters didn't make it or wouldn't even be able to find them at all.

Where normally the U.S. Would get involved in something like this, this time it is different. After Russia's choice to invade Ukraine and order them to surrender, the U.S. Did nothing to to try and physically stop it as we are known to do, especially with Russia. The citizens of the United States are pushing for less and less involvement in international affairs, which is part of the reason we did not punish the Syrian government when they used chemical weapons on their own people recently.

America recognizes the offices of the Syrian opposition as real diplomatic missions instead of the opposition's political leader. So America is basically saying that they think the Syrian Opposition Coalition is the legit government even though they will not admit it. This recognition will help the security and banking services for the Syria opposition. The offices f the Syrian opposition is the real voice or representative of the Syrian people. When Ahmad al-Jarba, who is the president of the Syrian opposition council, went to Washington it helped push the partnership of U.S. with Syria. America is in a foreign nation's business by helping Syria to find their true government and end the civil war.

Obama plainly states how soldiers will defend our citizens against foreigners with armed arms. We only attack those that we are not allied with. A lot of people (mainly republicans) find his statement ironic. I am not sure if is ironic or not to me. With this type circumstance, we only support/ are involved with the democracy from Asia to Africa, from the Americas to the Middle East, because of our interest and our conscience compel us to act on behalf of those who long for freedom.

America's military has been fighting with Iraq and Afghanistan for about ten years. Many American solider's have died in this war, but also many terrorist have died as well. President Obama has said, in his State of the Union address, that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have ended. That, however, isn't true; the war is still going on, but only America's involvement has ended in Iraq and is about to end in Afghanistan.

In collaboration with NATO, the U.S. has sent a total of 600 troops to the Baltics where they are expected to remain until the end of the year. Britain has sent over four of twelve fighter jets and said we are here to reassure our Baltic allies that we are able to protect their airspace, should it be needed. The U.S. volunteered troops to work with NATO in the Baltic area to ensure their allies that they will protect them from the increasingly more aggressive Russia. The troops are taking part in infantry exercises and there has been no physical conflict between the U.S. troops and Russians yet.
