This article explains how technology affects our every day lives in a good way. When we think of technology, we automatically think about our cellphones. Technology is not only in cellphones, but also in every day chores such as the dishwasher or gas powered lawn mower. Technology reduces the time it would take to do regular every day tasks. The internet makes it easier for a numerous amount of things such as shopping, researching, reading, writing (typing), etc. Technology does have many advantages, but it also has drawbacks as well. Technology can be harsh on the brain if it is used too frequently. Many people, such as kids, use technology as a get away. For example, playing video games, getting on the internet, etc. Using these types of technology could be a bad thing because it could influence the person to be violent or cyber bully someone else. As long as technology is used in a fun, successful way, it will always be a good affect on our society. But if technology is used to promote violence, technology is not a good thing for everyday society.

This article talks about the generation gap between teenagers and their parents and how parents do not know as much as their children when it comes to the subject. The article warns of the dangers such as predators, risks, and health issues that could follow such as addiction. However, it does not solely focus on the negative, it also lists the good side of the advantage to having technology, like all of it's seemingly endless resources.

  3. The spiritual head of Tibetan Buddhism, the Daili Lama, expressed his observation of how technology affects our daily lives in an interview with Willow Bay from the Huffington post. The article talks about how you would think that he knows a bit about technology due to his incredible about of followers on twitter. He discussed how technology has greatly made our every day lives easier and how technology can also affect our lives negatively if we let it control how we live. He exclaimed that it could get in the way if we let it, but we have control over it therefor it shouldn't.

According to Apple, when a person locks their phone, email attachments are encrypted in a certain way that locks them individually. Thus, the email attachments should not be able to open without the phone being unlocked first even if a hacker has bypassed the phone lock. However, German security expert Andreas Kurtz has proved that this simply is not true. Kurtz was able to plug in an iPhone 4 into a computer, bypass the passcode lock, and view email attachments. This does not work on newer devices as easily because they don’t allow computers to access raw files. However, it is easily done on older devices. Kurtz has reached out to Apple and made them aware of the problem, but they have not yet fixed it.

This article discusses the increase of sensors within today's society. The effects of sensors in today's society is this: they may begin to effect more than our privacy and surveillance.
Sensors can be found in smartphones, gaming systems, refrigerators, and even carpets. They can detect your location, how cold your ice is, and when or if you may fall. Sensors, of course, use data. Today, we [people worldwide] use a monstrous amount of data. This data collects and collects. Data that can be recovered, recorded are viewed by potential employers, potential universities, and maybe even super technologically advanced, nosy grandparents...regardless of how much this can be an invasion of privacy and comes with a sense of Big Brother surveillance, this"data mining" gives and takes more than this. High-end businesses and other prominent figures can gain power from this ability to use sensors to track and analyze people everywhere.

This article highlights the good and bad about technology's influence. It begins by stating that parents need to monitor their children or teens while they are online and warn them of predators. Also, mental health is brought to the surface as being caused from too much use of technology. Technology is also considered a cause of risk-taking by teenagers and can lead to illegal behaviors. It has become an addiction for some users and the addiction is similar to substance abuse. Technology has advantages when used correctly. It can help students with school work as well as in a social atmosphere. Overall, children can benefit from technology if the disadvantages of it can be prevented.

In this article posted by Huff, it states that the advances in our everyday
lives are due to technology. The "main purpose" of technology is to make our
lives easier, but it can go even farther than that. With new advancements can
also come with the new generation getting more and more motivated to come out
with more technology. This motive impacts our world with the idea, the more you
learn the easier you can make your life. Julien Maldonate states that Facebook
has helped be an online book to many, people are able to share their stories
across the world. He claims that with these advances we are able to "transmit
knowledge" to others and establish "permanent links." With this in mind
Christophe Aguiton, explains creating more and more challenges will show that
society will never be settle. For example the original iPhone came out, with in
months another and so on and so on. Society will never be pleased, but this will
strive for others to work harder. Technology influences our everyday lives daily
and will continue to do so as the years go on.It may be physically, by making
our days easier or mentally by helping expand the table and think of new ideas.

Technology has influenced our everyday lives by being able to communicate with people around the country. Also, news is able to spread faster by social media websites and television. Technology has helped medical issues as well. This article mentions that medical technology is in "light years" ahead of where it was a decade ago. Medical resources are being made available to countries and are being manufactured more cheaply and designed to travel through harsh environments with sources of technology. Last, but not least, technology has increased the international audience for the world. People are able to upload their talents online to Youtube or a social media and are able to get fame from just one video.

Our world and daily lives revolve around some kind of technology. We start the day on a cell phone, work on a lap top or desk top computer and end our day on an Ipad or tablet. Thanks to technology there more information generated every 48 hours than from the beginning of time thru 1992. There is a touch of technology in everything we do and it makes our lives easier. I see technology continuing to be a staple in everyday society.

    - The article explains the pros and cons of technology. It speaks specifically about predators, metal health problems, risk-taking, addiction, and the good side of Technology. It speaks on how parents overlook the fact that there are still predators lurking all over the internet and they scope children out especially, it then explains the mental health side of technology and how it can have people feeling despressed. Continuing on it talks on the Risk-Taking and how teens seeks for adult activity to do illegally, next it speaks on the addiction of technology and how it is often used during the wrong times such as church, school etc.. However after the bad things it had to see about Technology it shifts and tell about the good in technology and how it can help some with social skills and finding new friends.

In recent news, the Republican National Committee is now trying technology that could revolutionize voting on political offices. The new technology allows republican volunteers to know what citizens have voted in an election. They use this knowledge to find people have not yet voted and persuade them to vote republican. This technology was used in Florida's recent Senate elections, and it brought Republicans thousands of more votes than they originally expected.(The Republican won the election as well). This new technology does require staff management and Republicans will spend 17 million dollars on this new technology in the upcoming year. Although expensive, this new technology could have a lasting impact on upcoming political elections.

The Snapchat producers promised users that their information was safe and secure; however, Snapchat recently settled charges from the Federal Trade Commission for not being completely honest with users. Videos seemed to be disappeared from users' snapchats when they were actually being saved to the phone and someone could simply plug the phone into a computer to view the videos. Also, hackers stole around 4.6 million users private information off of the app and posted usernames and partial phone numbers on the internet. This is a big issue with technology today, especially for teenagers, since we do not realize the importance of keeping our personal information safe yet.

Recently, computer scientists have developed technology to better guard e-mail inboxes from spam. The new system will act like the human body's natural immune response to foreign objects. The system-like the immune system- learns as it detects more and more spam, building "memory cells" that will quickly dispose of the unwanted e-mail.
The new system is another step in the direction of biomimicry. Biomimicry involves various forms of everyday technology mimicking biological processes or organisms in design and/or function. Recent instances of biomimicry include buildings modeled after insects; water filtration systems based on cellular membranes; and solar energy collection analogous to photosynthesis.

Technology has influenced our lives in many ways. We can now access anything from anywhere; whether that means talking to someone halfway across the world or paying our bills. People no longer have to get up and go to the bank and get money out. With ATM's, that problem is solved. Just the other day, I had to go buy something and I didn't even have to use money; because, I had a debit card. And, just what we do in the outside world hasn't been the only area impacted by technology; our classrooms are getting a taste of it. We now have ways to interact with other teachers and professors and subjects in ways our parents and even grandparents never got to. In regards to talking to people around the world, with FaceBook and Twitter have made people more social and with dating sites helped them to maybe find love. Technology has brought ways to bring in income as well as people will pay most of the time for an easier way to do something like this article insinuates.

This article talks about how technology helps us in our everyday lives, but it also hurts us. It says the good part about technology is that it helps people reach out to one another and helps make communication much easier to do on a daily basis. With this being said, it can also hurt our daily lives because people can easily get hooked on the internet and not focus on what they need to focus on.

  22. Jala Thomas:

As technology starts to become more and more advanced, it has begun to control our lives. According to statistics over the years, we use technology to shop, work, play, love, and communicate with others. In today's society, we use online more than we ever have, but everyone sees the positive effects that advanced technology has introduced, but seem to ignore that it can have a negative effect on society also. Recent improvements to technology has led to a decline in "normal" social behavior. Today, you can access almost anyone or anything from internet. From having to wait for re-runs of your favorite show that you miss, the internet now makes it available for you to access that episode that you missed. It is starting to come to our realization that the news is no longer about us as a society, but it is now about technology that will eventually fully-control our daily lives and minds. It has come to a conclusion that technologists are traansforming our planet into computer peripherals, in which the computer and technology is all we know. In our society, commercials, ads, and promotions try to get to us to buy the newest, or latest technology to stay connected to current technology, but it has been said that keeping up with technology can decrease time for you to focus on yourself and family. It takes away the importance of what is really important. But the positive and negative aspect of technology can leave a good or a bad impact on our society, depending on how much we let it control our lives.

Technology was first used as an easier way to communicate. Now, modern technology has become our means of entertainment. The problem with this is, it is decreasing the amount of face-to-face interaction. Also, when one is immersed in their online world, the person becomes almost unable to form significant friendships in their real world, because of the virtual friendships they are involved in. It causes individuals to be lonely. This excess of technology also strains the relationships within families.

Technology has influenced doctor’s everyday lives by using google glasses to save lives in a Boston hospital. Dr. Steve Horng, a hospital’s emergency depart physicians, was taking care of a patient who was having a massive brain bleed and who could only tell the doctors that he had severe allergic reactions to blood pressure medications. Luckily the doctor was wearing google glasses that enabled him to view the patient’s allergy information and current medication regimen without having to log in to a computer. With the help of google glasses, it showed the doctor that the patient was on blood thinners that needed to be emergently reversed. If the doctor was not wearing the technology of google glasses, then he would not have been able to view the patient’s records in time without having to excuse himself to go to a computer. Google glass also allows doctors to collaborate with other doctors, get alerts, and it allows doctors to see other team member messages. This wearable computing will allow clinicians to replace tablet-based computing who need their hands free and instant access to information with google glass to avoid all of that. Google glasses have greatly influenced the doctors at a hospital in Boston. –Kelsey Skurka

  25. The last decade has seen a rise in the use of the internet for everything in our everyday lives. We have turned to it for information, pleasure, and connection with friends; however, it has only recently come to the attention just how unsecure it really is. After the NSA was exposed for spying, many of the top agents have come out to defend their practices. The NSA is known for using flaws in the encoding of websites to access the personal information of people. By using these bugs, the NSA has reported that they are able to track down potential terrorist threats and other information that can protect the US security. The former man in charge has recently come out to defend these practices by reporting that they are only being found to make the internet more secure. They are reportedly solely looking for flaws to make it safer for everyone else. The internet has these zero-day vulnerabilities, or uncureable flaws, that the NSA has been using to acquire information. They continuously reiterate that it is only for “high priority intelligence collection”, however, many new reports have denied this. Obama has as come out and defended this practice of using the flaws because it has a “clear national security or law enforcement application.” Critics have been on the rise after the Edward Snowden leaks of these practices, so the White House has begun to respond to the uproar. Are they using the information solely for the purpose of security or is there a bigger plan in mind?

Technology has both positive and negative effects on children.

Negative - predators. There are lots of predators on-line that are looking to find easy prey in children especially those that are not being supervised by their parents or other adults in charge. Children think they are making new friends when they are running the risk of being preyed upon. Parents need to be aware of today's technology and knowledgeable about what is out there on any smart device.
The more children use technology, the more likely they are to fall into habits or emotions that lead to other mental health disorders. Children should be out playing or being with their friends instead of being inside glued to the TV or internet.
Youth run the risk of hooking up much easier than before with people who can get them things - drugs, alcohol, etc.
Technology can be addictive. The youth use technology in inappropriate times, including during class, church and the family dinner.
Technology is not all bad. The youth today use it to connect with friends on Facebook, research for homework, etc. With supervision, children can gain the advantages of technology while avoiding the many traps it brings.

Although technology can be very useful, it has many negative effects on people, especially teens. Parents should be aware of the possible danger. Many teens easily become addicted to technology, and many have or become predators to others. Also, many positive things can come from technology if used right. It can benefit many teens by increasing their social skills.

The article analyzes the aspect of technology's influence on education. Technology has changed the way to learn and teach, and is affecting young people from very early ages (already from the age of 2). Social networking, for example, can either improve or penalize education depending on how it is used :its main concerns are privacy and security, for example it can encourage bullying; but it can also help students be less introverted and more open to collaboration while learning. There are also social networks designed for educational purposes. College students, too, benefit from technology and social networks, that can improve school spirit, offer virtual tours, and so on. So technology has influenced the learning process of kids from 2 years old to college age.

  33. The use of technology is great tool in our everyday lives ,and it is also a hinder in our everyday life. Technology in a way is destroying the idea of face to face communication. The more people use smartphones, MP3, and other device to communicate with others, there is a almost no need to talk to a person face to face. Technology use to be just a tool and now it is a crouch. Everyday people engage in some type of relationship husband, wives, best friends, friends, son's ect. and it they are more meaningful when people are face to face. Face to screen type of relationships may not last as long and lose a certain value to them. The interaction between people is vital ,and technology is slowly pulling people away from it everyday. What is the point of having "friends" if you can never really see them face to face? is that person really a friend? This a complex issues because on other hand technology helps to connect business for trade and other transactions. It keeps families in touch if someone is away. It is a faster way to talk than by letters and postcards. Things like the internet open up doors to learning. This is a coin type issues, there is a heads and there is a tail and it is all by chance which side turns up when society decides to flip it. Will technology help us or will be destroyed by our own creation? only time can tell
