  10. The struggle between the Jewish population and the Islamic population in Israel has been going on for far to long now. The conflict revolves around a Jerusalem holy site being prayed on by Jews. Islamic citizens are claiming it is a desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque. Though the land is the holiest of Judaism the feud continues. Israels prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants full control over the land. Aviad Visoli speaks for the Jews stating they want it to be divided between the two while Sheik Azzam al-Khatib insists that it is strictly for Muslims and no one else has right to pray there. The fight over this land has been going on since the destruction of the Jews second temple by Roman emperor Titus.

Sheik al-Khatib is director of the Waqf, which is an Islamic trust that looks over the site, and seems to not want Jews interfering with the site at all, and believes that a possible war could break out.

There is conflict over the Temple Mount in Israel because Jewish activists want to pray there, and it is causing an angry uproar from the Muslim world. The Muslims believe "This place belongs to the Muslim people, and no others have the right to pray here,” says Sheik Azzam al-Khatib the director of the Waqf, who explains why this angry alert is coming from the Muslim world. Israel’s Prime Minister's, Benjamin Netanyahu, government dismissed this movement as extremists, but are now debating on the matter. The chairman of the Temple Mount, Aviad Visoli, stated,“ We’re looking for it to be divided between Jews and Muslims." The Roman emperor Titus initiated the event of the actual destroying of the Jews' Second Temple in A.D. 70; it is also Titus who placed Jews into exile. Sheik Azzam al-Khatib, the director of Waqf, also stated, “If they try to take over the mosque, this will be the end of time.”

  19. Jewish activist consider Temple Mount, their holy site. They want to worship and pray there. The Muslims also consider it to be holy and want to keep Jews banned from there. Aviad Visoli, Israel's Prime Minister is the chairman of the organization in charge of the compound area and is expecting it to be split between the two groups. The Roman Empire's leader, Titus, 2000 years ago had the site destroyed. At that time, it was the Jew's holy landmark. The same area is home to one of the oldest landmark mosque. Sheik Azzam al-Khatib believes Muslims have the right for complete control. "Sheik Azzam al-Khatib is the director of the waaf, the Islamic trust that administers the site."
