Monday, May 14th

Pre-AP
Students took the final reading test on Lord of the Flies in class today.  After the test, we also finished our discussion of propaganda and began talking about fallacious thinking, describing and identifying examples of logical, emotional, and ethical fallacies.

Homework:  Students should review all notes, annotations, and analyses of Lord of the Flies in preparation for the novel's Unit Test on Wednesday, May 16th.  The test will also cover Golding notes, time period notes, Words of the Day, object and complement identification, and irregular verb conjugation.

Also, students will be reading several short stories before the semester is over. These will not be "officially" assigned until after the unit test, but if students would like to go ahead and get a head start on these stories, they can. The stories are, "The Most Dangerous Game" (page 24 in the textbook), "The Cask of Amontillado" (page 57 in the textbook), "The Lottery" (handout), and "The Ransom of Red Chief" (handout).

AHSGE Reading Review
In today's class, we reviewed for the final exam, covering all standards that the "Reading" section of the graduation exam addresses.
