2. Justine O'Brien is Sea World's reproductive center Scientific Director. The goal of the center is to study a species' reproductive biology and monitor the health of many wild life species.
3. The test tube penguin is fitting in well with the other naturally born penguins. They have said that you can not tell that she's is from a test tube.
4. This is a Magellanic penguin.
5. Three disadvantages to clones are that the products are not genetically diverse, they have they exact same DNA as the "parent" cell, therefore one thing can kill one of the cells or one thing can kill all of the cells, and with cloning you have to make sure the process goes perfectly in order to successfully produce a clone. Three advantages are it is a quick way to repopulate, further advancement in cloning can produce an organ that one might need, and you are able to produce with just one person/cell which makes the process quicker and does not need a "mate" as a posed to sexual reproduction.
6. I think cloning is a great source of technology that can be used to repopulate a species or repopulate cells that can eventually lead to finding cures for harmful diseases, but I do not thing cloning should be used on humans. There is so many risk that come along with the process and if the clone does make it through but not all of the DNA is accurate or something goes wrong the clone could suffer greatly. I believe it is too big of a risk to clone humans.

6. I think artificial insemination leads us away from the natural circle of life. Life itself will literally become artificial if this is what the world turns to for the continuation of generations.

5. pros: It can reproduce depleting populations. It can create organs needed to replace damaged ones. It can be used to reproduce good organisms in agriculture. Cons: It can decrease genetic diversity. It could create a "superior generation". Some may find it morally wrong.
6. I think cloning and artificial insemination is a positive development in the medical world. It can help endangered species and also be used to produce plants that are needed in our society. Also, organs could be created to replace damaged ones sick as a kidney or heart.

The advantage of this type of science is a potential treatment to cure diseases like cancer and Alzheimers, it'll help couples who are infertile, and it helps preserve animals on the edge of extinction. The disadvantage would be uncertainty if the clone will make it and function properly, doctors might use and abuse the method, and they might be prone to diseases.
6. I think that its okay, i dont know if its against my religion, but if its in order to prolong the life of animals for my future generations to enjoy or to give two infertile people a child then it'll be a crime not to let them clone if happiness is the ultimate result.

Sea World's goal is to study the species reproductive biology and to help better monitor the species health in captivity and in the wild.

184 is a Magellanic penguin.
Advantages include couples with one person being infertile having the ability to have children, the ability to help raise the populations of endangered species, and the ability to grow organs for human transplant to cure kidney disease or other diseases. Disadvantages include lack of genetic diversity from clones, ethical issues with the fact that it is a human fetus these transplant organs come from, and the debate over whether or not extinct animals should be brought back to life.
I think artificial insemination can be really helpful for a woman whose husband is sterile to have a child without violating the trust of her husband, yet still being able to have a family. Cloning can also be a great thing to grow organs for people with diseases or to bring back animals that went extinct because people weren't caring at the time, but cloning can also be a terrible thing when people begin cloning themselves then we lose genetic diversity.

Advantages: The cells can be stored for long periods of time, they can be easily manipulated, and growth of the cells can be easily monitored and reproduced.
Disadvantages: Cells can be contaminated if all precautions are not taken, the risk of multiple pregnancies,and the chance that the insemination will work.
6. What are your thoughts about cloning and artificial insemination? I think its pretty nifty. Like you can man-make babies with all the right stuff. Although when people misuse this science, it bothers me, like those people who have eight babies at once??? Thats kinda ridiculous. But still, its like grow your own baby and its really neat.

6. I believe artificial insemination can be both good and bad. It is good in the sense we're able to let those who desperately want children, but are not capable of easily reproducing, actually have children. I also believe it is bad because it's testing its luck with nature. I feel like it should not be used in an abundance because we could all become too reliant. If it is drastically needed, then that is when artificial insemination should come into play. But if it is not needed, then there is not a reason to do it since it is costly and a tedious procedure to complete.

It may be good to clone for the fun of it because some people are really interested in it;It could also save many animals from being endangered;and it can discover new scientific experiments. Some disadvantages may lead to a malfunction that could go wrong; some scientists could kill many animals by trying to clone and it may not work every time.

I think its good when trying to reproduce something that you cant on your own. But other than that, its not something i am really interested in.

6.) I personally feel like its playing the role of God, and is kind of taking science too far but I suppose it has some good benefits. In animals I can see the importance, because we do have species in endanger of going existent but with people who just can't have kids I personally find it unnecessary since the world is already very overpopulated and there are so many children in foster care and orphanages that need homes. I have not been in a situation like that so I do not know, I'm sure it is important to some people to have kids with their own genetics and if there willing to pay for it then its their right.

Cloning has many advantages that include: cloning can make new organs that can be given to patients who need them but can not wait for a transplant, help reduce mutations in a gene pool by cloning an organism without mutations, and help in the study of organisms by providing test subjects. Some disadvantages include: there is a very small success rate, clones often do not live as long as their natural counterparts, and many people oppose cloning because of ethical issues.
6. I personally disagree with the idea of cloning, especially reproductive cloning which is when a whole organism is cloned. I just think scientists are messing with something they do not fully understand with this. I just do not know what the state of the clone's soul would be. I have never really thought about the ethics of artificial insemination, and I have never disagreed with it. Now that I think about it, I am not sure how it stands biblically so I do not know.

5. The advantages of cloning are to help rebuild certain species coming close to extinction. In Henrietta Lacks her immortal cells are able to be cloned to help with cancer fighting tactics as well as vaccinations that are given regularly to prevent early death. Disadvantages could be genetic mutation, people could be harmed in the process, also if something were to go wrong in the process you never know what might happen.
6. I think that if it’s for a good cause then do it. I am all for it as long it isn’t for creating a new species just to see what It can do. It is a great way to help prevent diseases and it is even better when you are helping to repopulate a species of animals that are at risk of extinction like the Magellanic Penguin.

Disadvantages: ~This process is difficult which leaves a lot of room for doctors to make mistakes (I didn't know if I was supposed to do 3 of each or 3 total so I just did 3 of each)
6) I think that artificial insemination is very useful and effective. It helps us study species going extinct, it gives us the opportunity to reproduce things when they can not reproduce on their own, and it has many other great aspects to it.

6. I do not believe cloning is right. Everyone is unique and copies should not be made. I believe that the utilization of artificial insemination is okay for the purpose of helping a couple have children. I know in many couples have to resort to this as a result of infertility. I also think that if a homosexual couple wanted to have kids, this should be an option for them too (with a donor).

6. I believe that if it is going to lead to something good then by all means do it. If it will help endangered species and help more animals live different, better lives then it sounds like a wonderful idea. However, if it is going to hurt rather than help then I think it would not be the best idea. If by doing this it is at risk of putting an animal in harm then it is a risk that should not be taken in my opinion.

Some people find the ethics of this practice questionable, it decreases the random mutations in a population, and slows down evolution, but it can help heal wounds, find cures for diseases, and prevent genetic mutations.
