Homework: Students need to annotate and analyze The Onion article assigned in class. They also need to write a thesis responding to the prompt, "How does the author use rhetorical strategies to effect in this satirical news article?"

In today's class, we continued analyzing "The Scarlet Ibis." We focused specifically on syntactical and grammatical elements of the short story.
Homework: Students need to read chapters 1-4 in A Separate Peace by Monday, October 7.
