Wednesday, January 6

Welcome back!  I hope that everyone had a restful break and is ready to finish our year strongly!

AP Language and Composition
Students were assigned their first debate of the semester in class today.  They will be working with partners to defend the importance of certain school groups and organizations.

Homework:  Students need to finish the assigned reading of Devil in the White City by Thursday, January 14.  They also need to work on their life raft debates.

Pre-AP English 9
Students reviewed the TAP-CASTT model of poetry analysis and practiced writing a literary analysis essay.

Homework:  Students need to obtain their copies of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams as soon as possible.  Free editions of these texts can be found on the class blog.

Bible as Literature
We reviewed over last semester's Biblical concepts in class today.

    2. They are speaking to people who have similar problems and people who have been through the same thing.
    3. He is using a very strong exhortation to urge people to not make the mistakes he did and has seen people do
    4. John feels like you can be saved at any time and it's never too late and Christie feels the same way
    5. Yes because it's a big issue that is causing lots of other issues today and if we have to involve it in politics to stop it then we should. That is what these candidates are doing.
    6. I feel like anyone can be helped with an addiction. Addictions can be both a weakness and a moral failing. Some people give in for whatever reason such as peer pressure and then others have parents who set their morals wrong so they end up doing drugs.
