  1. NATO is is an intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic
Treaty which was signed on 4 April 1949. NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty
Organization. It's purpose is to constitute a system of collective defense
whereby its member states agree to mutual defense in response to an attack by
any external party. Russia is interested in Crimea because they want to take
over the Black Sea Fleet that is in Crimea. NATO has high interest in the
Ukraine because Ukraine is part of the west (democratic society)/ a nation of 46
million which occupies a vital strategic position between Europe and Russia. G8
is the eight most industrialized/ powerful nations in the world, comprising
Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the UK, and US. US is threatening to remove Russia from the G8 if they do not stop there "incredible acts of aggression." Ruble is the unit of Russian currency. Vitali Klitschko is a former
boxing world champion-turned-presidential candidate. Russia does not have the
right to make this move because it is not a unanimous decision by Ukraine
citizen to take over Kiev. It is not fair to all the citizens who's lives will be altered by the take over.

NATO stands for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The purpose of this organization is to provide and guarantee freedom and security of it's members through military and political means. Russia has high interest in Crimea because it has historic links to Russia and is home to Russia's Black Sea fleet. Moreover, NATO has a high interest in the Ukraine because it is a nation of 46 million which occupies an important strategic position between Europe and Russia. The G8 is a club of developed economies, and the United States is threatening to remove Russia from it. A ruble is the basic monetary unit of Russia. Vitali Klitschko is the former boxing world champion-turned-presidential candidate. Russia does not have the right to make this move. Russia should respect the Ukraine as a nation.

  3. NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the purpose of the organization is to protect the freedom of it's members who border the northern Atlantic Ocean. Russia has such a high interest in Crimera because it was owned by Russia a while back and then the Ukraine became the "leader" over the country and the Russians in the country want to be a part of Russia. NATO have such a high interest in Ukraine because they want to keep the peace and to have the Ukrainian citizens to be treated fairly. A G8 is a group of eight leading industrializing democracies. It is using is as a threat against Russia by taking them out of G8. A Ruble is a closely associated with Russia and is a unit if currency of many Eastern European countries. Vitali Klitschko is a former boxing world champion/presidential candidate. Russia does not have the right to invade Ukraine even though they supporters there.

  4. 1.) North Atlantic Treaty Organization (1949) is composed of European nations as well as the US and Canada as an organization for peace.
2.) NATO has a high interest in the Ukraine because of its position between Europe and Russia. Also, Russia is tightening their grip on Crimea because of its historic links to Russia and is "home to Russia's Black Sea Fleet."
3.) G8 is the Group of Eight, the group of the governments of the leading industrialized democracies, including Russia. John Kerry stated that Russia should behave as a G8 country, or else the US will pull back in business with Russia.
4.) A ruble is the monetary unit of Russia.
5.) Vitali Klitschko; Ukraine Presidential candidate. Ukraine politician. Leader of the Ukraine Democratic Alliance for Reform. Member of Ukraine Parliament. Also a professional boxer and only boxer to hold a PhD.
6.) Some citizens may be supportive of Russia's taking over of Kiev, but if it also poses as a major conflict that affects more than just two countries, then Russia's actions should be discussed with the countries that the seize would affect.

  5. NATO stands for "North Atlantic Treaty Organization" and it was formed in Washington D.C. in the 1940s as a group effort in defending against aggression. Germany, Turkey, Greece, and the 12 "Atlantic Pact" nations make up NATO. Russia has such interest in Crimea because it is where Russia's "Black Sea Fleet" is held and it is tied historically to the country. Meanwhile, NATO has interest in the Ukraine because of its location as a sort of buffer between Europe and Russia. The "G8" is a group of 8 countries that are economically powerful and it simply is like a social status thing that makes a country look good to be in. For Russia to get kicked out would almost make them like taboo. A ruble is a "silver or copper-alloy coin and monetary unit of Russia and its successor states." Vitali Klitschko used to be a champion boxer who is now running for president in Ukraine and is opposed to the government and Russia invading. Russia definitely does not have a right to do this. I realize some would say they do since some people are for Russia coming back and they were once over Ukraine; however, Ukraine is currently their own country and has a right to do so without Russia standing over its head. Like Mr. Kerry said, "You don't just, in the 21st century, behave in the 19th century fashion by invading another country on a completely trumped-up pretext." It isn't right.

  6. The acronym NATO stands for North Atlanta Treaty Organization. NATO is a political and military alliance f 28 North American and European countries, bound by shared democratic values that have joined together to best pursue security and defense. The reason why Russia has such a high interest in Crimea is because the naval base at Sevastopol, on Crimea’s southwestern tip, is Russia’s only warm water naval base and its primary means of extending force through the Mediterranean. It has been claimed that the port city has been used to supply Bashar al-Assad throughout the current civil war in Syria. Crimea is Russia’s pride. NATO has such a high interest because they say that Russia occupies a vital strategic position between Europe and Russia. The G8, also know as The Group of Eight, is a forum for the government of seven leading industrialized democracies, plus Russia. The United States is threatening to remove Russia from the G8 club of developed economies. A ruble is the basic monetary unit of Russia and some other former republics of the Soviet Union. Vitali Klitschko is a Ukraine politician. He is also the leader of the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance Reform and a former boxing world champion. Russia does have the right to make this move but it is a very bad idea. Why make a war between two neighboring countries? All it’s going to do is not only cause trouble now but in the long run also. Russia is just making more enemies for them by doing this.

    1. NATO is an intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty which was signed on 4 April 1949. NATO stands for [North Atlantic Treaty Organization]. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is a federation of European countries, along with the United States who bound together following WWII to ensure peace and stability in Western Europe. While seen as a defensive force to halt the spread of Communism, its intent was to show unity against the Soviet Block alliance and promised that any attack against a member nation of NATO was considered an attack against all NATO.

  16. NATO, or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, is a military alliance between multiple countries according to the North Atlantic Treaty signed in April of 1949. The members agree to a mutual defense in response to an attack by an outside force. Currently, there are 28 countries that are a part of NATO. The purpose of NATO is to protect the security of its members. Russia has such high interest in Crimea because it has historic links to Russia and is home to their Black Sea fleet, a large unit of their Navy. NATO is interested because they do not want a large scale war to break out and Ukraine contain major gas pipelines into Europe that Russia could tamper with if they were to invade. The G8 is a forum for the governments of a group of eight leading industrialized countries. They are using the threat as a way to say that if Russia does not back off, then the G8 will not talk to or have any relations with them anymore. A ruble is a unit of currency for various countries in Eastern Europe, commonly associated with the economy of Russia. Vitali Klitschko is a Ukrainian politician and leader of the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform. Klitschko is also a presidential candidate for the next election in the Ukraine. Russia does not have any right to make this move because they have said on many occasions that Ukraine has the right to Crimea, the place in which they now want. Under the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, Russia agreed not to threaten or use force against the territorial or political independence of Ukraine. I gave my brother a toy car for Christmas one year, once I had given it to him, we were both in agreement that it was now his, since it was a gift. I cannot be like I’m taking that back now because I gave it to him and it is now in his possession. Russia is now trying to take back what they had even though they have signed agreements and assured Ukraine that this would never happen.

  17. 1) NATO(North Atlantic Treaty Organization) is much like the United Nations. NATO consists of 26 European countries plus the United States and Canada (28 total) and is dedicated to protecting each other as well as providing economic support.
    2) Russia has a high intrest in Crimea because Crimea has historical connections to Russia and is home to the Russian Black Sea Fleet. NATO has interest in Ukraine because Ukraine is neighbored by countries in NATO. If Russia takes over Ukraine without outside interference, then NATO fears that Russia will begin to take over countries that are a part of NATO. NATO wants to stop Russia now to prevent conflicts in the future.
    3) The G8(Group of Eight) consists of the eight most wealthiest and developed countries in the world. The G8 meet a few times a year help foster economic opportunities and share new ideas and technologies. It would be detrimental to the Russian economy and development, as well as a great embarrassment to be removed from the G8.
    4) Ruble is a type of currency used by most European countries and the keystone to the Russian economy.
    5) Vitali Klitschko is a former boxer, now politician who is from the Ukraine and is for Ukrainian independence. He is an upcoming Presidential candidate and currently serves in the Ukrainian Parliament.
    6) Russia does not have the right to make this move. It is not right to take the civil liberties of a country without full approval and consent of the whole country. If a Ukrainian wants to be under Russian rule, then he or she can simply move to Russia.

The Russians are very interested in Crimea because it "has historic links to Russia and is home to Russia's Black Sea fleet." France, United States, United Kingdom, Russia, Germany, Japan, Italy, and Canada are members. The US is threatening to oust Russia from the group and for now economically isolate them from the rest of the world which would hurt their economy. The ruble is a unit of currency of various countries in Eastern Europe and is closely associated with the economy of Russia. Vitali Klitschkois a former boxing world champion-turned-presidential candidate for the Ukraine and is pro Ukrainian independence.
No Russia does not have the right invade the Ukraine under any circumstance, even if they say some people In the Ukraine asked for their help. If the people of a soverign nation wish to be part of another nation then the people and their representative government should have a vote and abide by the results. Not have a neighboring country invade.

NATO is the Northern Atlantic Treaty Organization, its purpose is to enforce safety and freedom. Russia has high interest in Crimea, seeing as though it has a historical link to it. NATO is paying even more attention to it, since it is endangering citizens. G8 is a meeting for the governments of seven leading industrialized democracies, including Russia. The US is using this as a way to threaten Russia for its actions. A ruble is the basic unit of currency in Russia. Vitali Klitschko is a former boxer- turned to president. Russia does not have the right to take over Kiev, because Russia wants Crimea and is not a reason worth losing sovereignty over.
