  1. Lorenzo B. Winston:
    1. McDonald’s is the major food corporation that owns The Corner.
    2. An intraprenuer is a manager within a company who promotes original product development and marketing.
    3. Major food corporations would try to open clandestine, independent-looking restaurants to boost their effectiveness in competing with chain restaurants and also for other independent restaurants to work together and help economies.
    4. How it backfires to Yum is that for one, they don’t have good intraprenuers to manage to the independent restaurants and to keep the restaurant up and running; two, in this scenario society gets upset about these independent restaurants whether it’s the name, logo, motto, menu, ANYTHING that they might think is a “carbon copy” or a “reject” of a major food corporation.
    5. I think that fast-food restaurants have made an HUGE impact on our country in every which way. McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, etc.; those types of restaurants are so popular they will be the first thing that will come out of their mouth when a person will ask, “What do you want to eat?” Also, it has made a bad impact on some states in our country. The “laziest states” in our country are called the laziest states for a reason, according to resources. Lazy states are given that nickname just because of how must fast-food the state as a whole eats, not trying to burn off the calories, which is why some lazy states are called the “fattest states.”

    1) McDonald's
    2) A person within a large company who takes direct responsibility for turning an idea into a profitable business/company through risk taking
    3) because it could bring in the customers who don't like to eat at chain restaurants/ fast food.
    4) they offended local Vietnamese people by making their Vietnamese restaurant's logo a red star (symbol for communism)
    5) it has made people not eat as healthy because they know its fast, easy, and cheep. Sometimes when people get home from work they might not be in the mood to cook so fast food is just an easy alternative.

    1.McDonalds
2.a manager within a company who promotes innovative product development and marketing.
    3. its less mainstream and attracts people who don't want to eat at chain restaurants
4.the shop's red star logo was a common symbol of communism and immediately upset the local Vietnamese community.
    5. i believe that the fast food industry has made America want things fast and easy like someone works a long day and comes home for dinner but is either to tired to cook or doesn't want to spend time at a fancy restaurant what do they do they go to the easiest and quickest option fast food and later makes it a habit of going to the fast food restaurants eating habits then become unhealthy.

  4. Ke-Anna' Rich: 1. McDonald's
    2. Someone in a large company who acts as an entrepreneur.
    3. To appeal to the masses of people who are tired of going to the same old restaurant chains.
    4. They upset their target audience by not knowing much about their culture.
    5. I think the fast-food industry has negative effects on the country, because there are so many of them popping up that it is hard not to give into temptation. Many people would rather go out and get a greasy meal from some fast-food chain, other than cooking for themselves, or getting something healthy. Some people go to McDonald's or other restaurant chains nearly everyday and I admit if I could I would too, and that's the problem.

    1. McDonalds
    2. A manager within a company who promotes innovative product development and marketing.
    3. Allen Adamson says you should "keep them small and more niche" and "the stealth efforts reflect the pressures on the country's biggest food makers, which are contending with the surging popularity of smaller brands that position themselves as decidedly less corporate." People aren't as impressed with big brands of food, they'd rather share new places with friends on social media.
    4. This strategy backfired the “Yum” brand because they used a symbol for their logo that upset the local Vietnamese community, which was where they set up the restaurant.
    5. Honestly, I love food whether it's fast food, home cooked, or sit down restaurant. I think big companies are just trying to advertise to get more customers, so it really doesn't matter if they try to disguise and be a different place because the customers would be coming because they like the food whether its a big brand or not. Really, fast food helps out parents because for example, when me and sisters all have different stuff to do and a lot of homework and my parents have to work later, then it is easier for us to just go pick up fast food because my mom doesn't have time to cook that night.

    1. McDonalds
    2. A manager within a company who promotes innovative product development and marketing
    3. Because it attracts people that don't typically eat at chain restaurants like McDonalds.
    4. Because their logo for a Vietnamese sandwich shop was of a red star, which signified communism and upset the local Vietnamese community.
    5. Fast food has given us an easy way to get food without much effort. But, honestly I don't think it has had major effects. It just helps when you dont have time to cook and need to grab some quick food, and i appreciate it because i love Taco Bell!!

    1. McDonalds
    2. A team at Taco bell that came up with the idea of this restaurant
    3. Because fast food has earned such a bad rep. and doesn't make as much money as it used to.
    4. They used a communist star as the logo for a Vietnamese restaurant
    5. I believe that they have made us lazy with our eating habits. It is also so cheap that people who don’t have a lot of money have no alternative but to eat fast food which can be extremely bad for you. This can be shown in how often people eat out instead of cooking and having a family meal. It is easier and cheaper to just pick up KFC on the way home from work.

    1-McDonalds
2- A manager within a company who promotes innovative product development and marketing
3- Because the younger crowd is looking for more authentic food and some people don't want to eat at traditional fast food chains.
4-They opened up a Vietnamese sandwich shop with the red star logo which is the logo for communism and that upset the Vietnamese.
5- I think the fast food industry has had a HUGE effect because of its fattening and addictive taste making the U.S. not so athletic. Also, for example we have become so accustomed to it we really just eat it all the time and don't realize the fattening substances and i know a person from Europe who is here for exchange and she doesn't like to eat fast food because they eat a lot of healthy things over there.Since its everywhere and so easy to get we end up eating it all the time and its not good for us we depend on it. But don't get me wrong I'm as in love with fast food as anyone else.

    3. Because sales are going downhill.
    4. They used a red star that looked like the symbol for communism as the logo for a restaurant in Vietnam.
    5. It has affected the country in good and bad ways. It has created jobs and provided a cheap, fast, easy way to get food, but the food it provides is generally unhealthy.

    4. "Yum" backfired because their logo was a symbol of communism, which is a system characterized by the absence of social classes, money and the state.
    5. Fast food restaurants have made parents lazy and obese, and has become an excuse for teenagers not to know how to cook because most fast food places are open 24/7 and they can just go pick something up. We all love fast food but I honestly think its a terrible thing.

  12. Carter Billings 3rd (1 McDonalds owns The Corner. (2 An intrapeneur is a person who takes responsibility of making an idea an actual profitable source. (3 They do this to create something for people to talk about and try and also to try something different in todays market. (4 They used a red star for their logo and to the Vietnamese community this brought on the thoughts of communism. (5 Fast food restaurants have affected our eating habits in different ways. Some are good like the fact that it is cheap and fast which is good for some people, for instance if a mother needs to feed her kids and it is to late to cook. On the other hand it is widely know to be not the best for your health which can affect your well being and daily life. In the end it being so cheap and accessible changes our eating habits to eating that instead of something home cooked or healthy.

    1. McDonald’s
    2. A manager or team within a company that promotes an innovative product
    3. Some people want a new or unique food experience so these companies are trying to appeal to that group.
    4. I don’t think the overall strategy backfired, but problems happened because of a ridiculous logo. The logo itself is what backfired. Instead of appealing to the Vietnamese population, it was highly offensive to them.
    5. Although the fast food industry has given us affordable food that is quick and convenient, it has also promoted meals that are high fat, high calorie and sometimes larger portioned that what we should be eating. For many years, we have learned to enjoy and depend on these high calorie meals. We like our fattening food. Some restaurants have added healthier options to their menus but they often charge a higher price (ex. Chick-fil-A sandwich is about $3 while a dinner salad is about $7). People on a tighter budget would be less likely to choose the salad. Many restaurants do offer less expensive items such as side salads, fruits and yogurt. It is up to the public to look for and choose the healthier options.

    2. A manager within a company who promotes innovative product development and marketing
    3. Because it makes them look more attractive and high quality to people who never really eat at fast food restaurants.
    4. Because they used a Red Star which is a Communist star in Vietnam
    5. America is the most obese country in the world, which ultimately makes us the people who eat the most fast food. We normally don't think about it, it's a grab and go type of thing. I personally like fast food, because i have softball tournaments almost every weekend in the summer, and if i'm out in Hoover and have a game i have to play in an hour, it's great to have a fast food restaurant close because, let's be honest, ballpark chicken is not my favorite, but i see where it could be abused to eating it every night.

    5. i believe that fast foods restaurants have made Americans lazy and dependent on others doing their work for them. my example is that this country is the most obese country in the world and fast foods restaurants have caused this with the unhealthy food because its cheap and easy.

    2. Someone who promotes an innovative product for a company
    3. Because it attracts people who prefer not to eat the food-like products that fast-food chains sell
    4. Because they used a Communist logo
    5. Fast-food is one of the worst things that has ever happened to this country, but it goes hand-in-hand with the system we live in. The common man doesn't have the time or the money to eat healthy, homemade meals every meal of the day. So, as a result, they stop by the nearest fast-food chain and get whatever looks best for their pocketbook, or perhaps their eyes. Fast-food chains always do a good job of making pictures of their food look delicious, but what you receive is not the same as what you see. Fast-food, in turn, has made this country a very unhealthy country, and the most overweight country in the world. The worst part is, most people are completely oblivious as to what they are eating and contributing to; they keep shelling out their hard-earned money to companies that are poisoning them.

    3) Some people are looking for something rather than a fast food restaurant

    4) It upset the local Vietnamese people because it was a sign of communism.

    5) Fast food places tend to use more non-authentic products when preparing food therefore making it much unhealthier. When restaurants use authentic products in the means of producing food it isn't as greasy and fatting as some are. Its cheap and easy and that's what a lot of people like.

    3) To attract customers who prefer to eat somewhere that's not a fast food restaurant.
    4) They had a communist logo.
    5) I believe that the fast-food industry has had negative effects on our country. I think that it's more convenient to get fast food (hence the term "fast"), but it's not healthy. After seeing a bunch of YouTube videos on what the food these places sell us are really like, I've been going less often. Every once in a blue moon, if I'm with my friends, we might get something from McDonald's. The only thing I really eat from McDonald's anymore is their fries. But the food in this country contributes to a lot of the health issues we are facing. It's really sad.

    5. Due to American society’s increasingly fast paced lifestyle, Americans have slowly come to depend on fast-food industries. Statistics even show that fast food has become such a tremendous convenience, that forty-four percent of Americans purchase these types of meals at least once weekly. This is important in realizing the importance fast food plays on our society and its market. For most Americans, the easy access to fast food provides the ideal time saving strategy that is needed often. Even though this is a great asset to some, it can also become an issue in dietary habits. Consuming the amount of calories that fast food contain can easily lead to obesity, and in turn, can also lead to possibly fatal circumstances. Despite this, there are still many ways that people still continue to become intrigued with fast food. Everywhere society members turn there are advertisements for fast food. Radio advertisements while they are driving, television advertisements while watching a show and pop-up advertisements while searching the Internet are all in everyone’s daily lives. In a way, the market couldn’t survive without bombing advertisement for fast food that people come in contact with every day. If every person in the world purchased a $6 meal once a week, then that alone provides a huge market for the industry. Regardless, humans need to eat and fast food is making it easier to do so. In reality, Americans have become so accustomed to fast food chains restaurants that it would be hard to even imagine society without it.

    1)McDonald's

    2) a manager within a company who promotes innovative product development and marketing.

    3) So they could look more appealing to the local restaurant lovers who dont like big fast food chains.

    4) Because they used a symbol that offended many Vietnamese people.

5)I believe fast food industries have had an extremely negative impact on our country. Though it is relatively inexpensive and quick to obtain, the fattening foods are nothing but terrible for our bodies and provoke even worse eating habbits in people. These terrible eating habbits then lead to diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if pharmacies haven't teamed up with fast food chains such as McDonald's and Taco Bell to add things in their food to increase the chance of type 2 diabetes so pharmacies could earn more money for their treatments. As a type 1 diabetic, I have to be extremely cautious about what I eat based on the amount of sugar and carbohydrates in the food (with other varying factors such as fiber and net carbs), and from personal experiences I've had to calculate the number of carbohydrates in a fast food meal, which is in my opinion ridiculous. A seemingly healthy meal at McDonald's (a grilled chicken sandwich with small fries) is still 80 carbohydrates, though I could have a similar meal at home for less than 50. It seems to me that there just seems to be nothing good about having such establishments around every corner.
