  1. Though i agree with Grace Shim that Instagram should not be held responsible for anything that people post on its site, it does not change the fact that there will be people in high places that will hold Instagram responsible for posts such as rats215's scandalous post and will stop at nothing to shut the app down, and they will be successful in doing so.So, Instagram has to work harder to keep posts such as this one at bay IF they wish to keep there app running freely as it is now, because it does not matter what we, the middle class people, think about the situation; the only people's opinions that count are those from people of high power and authority. The perfect example of a situation like this to occur is we, the students and faculty vs. the county board over the issue of keeping our four block schedule. In the end, despite all of our protests and petitions, we were forced to switch from the lovely number "four" to the dreaded number "eight", because we have no POWER to change the decision.

I disagree with Shaquala, for one it would be just a plain waste of money for
Instagram to investigate their time in investigating other pages. Another thing
is Instagram is not responsible with taking a stand against bullying or stopping
bullying, a person should just know what is morally right and wrong when it's
comes to bullying. We just have plain out idiots these days who have all the
freedom in the world and do not know how to use it in the right manner. In the
end no one is at fault but the group that started it. Although people have freedom of speech but this whole topic goes to an extent.

  3. I would like to challenge Danielle Deese position on the ethic of putting crime investigation materials on social media websites, like instagram, that can cause server repercussions.. I do understand that education in a part of the issue of a person's ethics. if a person does not have a education, their morals/ethic will reflect their education; however, Social media website are not ignorant to the fact that there are people who have poor ethic. I know that they have million of people posting al type of things and can not monitor it all, But they could have designed in their website programing to have any inappropriate picture or word automatically rejected or deleted. this would dismiss the need to monitor because it is programed in the website to do it. people are people; they can change at will ,but a website or program can not. shouldn't a website that allows people to talk and share photos with people also protect the users from harmful and obvious endangering information or pictures. the users keep the site alive an in return shouldn't ,us, the users have a peace of mind to know that the site is protecting us. social media knows the ethic of this generation very well. they know that some people will put destructive things on the site. they have report buttons and a blocking feature, but they are all ineffective because people can either get around it and another person has to do it. the destructive information at most times will sit on the page and by the time it gets reported or blocked it is already too late. the damage is done. the cite can not be charged because it has all these feature ,but they are mediocre to what they could be doing. "you have the freedom to say whatever you want but you shouldn't use your "freedom" as harm." (Deese). we all the freedom to say and post pictures of whatever ,and social media cites make sure people don't their freedom to harm. People's ethics are wrong in this day and age ,but when they are wrong , they should be confronted. In WWll, the United States confronted Germany over the holocaust. we won the war. Then why is it son hard to win at home? Lives are being lost because of cyber bulling , rebellions ,and now criminal evidence leakage. all of the these just need to be confronted. Than maybe one more person will live to see another day.

  4. I agree with what Shelley said to an extent but i do believe that instagram is responsible and should be held accountable for there actions. They think that they guy had privacy right but when he is getting people killed he throws his right of privacy out the window and instagram should have realized that. They should have reported it to the cops and shut the the user down as soon ans he started posting. They pretty much harbored a criminal. this is why i disagree with Shelley. Tripp Harrison

I agree with Nisha singes comment. In the comment Nisha states that it is not instigra a Faught that the account is using the app to harm others by giving out personal information. This account has caused many accidents. But it is not instigrams Faught that this occurred. However, to prevent things like this in the long run, Instagram could monitor what goes up on each persons account. By doing this it could help in many ways. It could help protect people from cyber bullying and help save lives.

  6. I agree with Danielle. Moral values and the deterioration of our Nation character is causing most of the problems. Companies can not be criticized for issues people they only know through a subscription create or dictate. Education is the key but unfortunately most people think they don't need it. People are too selfish and have no concerns or compassion for other people. Just because someone has a freedom or right does not mean they can take others' privileges such as safety away. People should think about everything they post, text, write or even say and how it could effect someone else. The Golden Rule is still a great rule to always follow.

  7. In defense of Kacy's argument, I believe that people do not have the right to post materials that could harm other people.I also believe that Instagram should improve their filtering capabilities. Instagram should also not be held responsible, as they are not the posters of the materials; however Instagram should improve their filters to prevent the posting of this illegal content.
