AP Language and Composition
In today's class, we debated about the merits and downfalls of the federal government's involvement in school lunch programs.
Homework: Students need to obtain their copies of Laura Hillebrand's Unbroken. We will begin reading the book on Monday, September 1.
Pre-AP English 9
Today, we discussed and debated the issues surrounding the events occurring in Ferguson, Missouri, and the Michael Brown shooting. Students also received information regarding their research project that will begin tomorrow.
Homework: Students should begin reading chapters 1-10 of To Kill a Mockingbird.
Bible as Literature
We spent time today comparing the similarities and contrasting the differences between the Biblical account of Creation found in Genesis 1 and the creation account of the Assyrians found in the Epic of Gilgamesh.
Homework: Students should look over their notes and their Words of the Day in preparation for the test that will be given on Friday, August 22.
